Personal Belongings
Valuables and excess cash should be checked at the time of your admission. The Nebraska Medical Center assumes responsibility for these items only when they are properly deposited in the hospital Security Office safe. You are responsible for these items if they remain in your room. If you wish to check valuables after your admission, contact your nurse. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Smoking Policy
The Nebraska Medical Center provides a smoke-free and tobacco-free environment to all patients, whose health and welfare is our primary concern. Smoking and other use of tobacco is not permitted on The Nebraska Medical Center property except in specifically designated outdoor smoking shelters. Please ask your nurse for specific information about where smoking shelters are located. Ask your doctor about the use of alternative therapies (medications, nicotine patch, etc.), if you cannot utilize the designated outside smoking areas.
