Pain Management Services
Physical Therapy
The goal of physical therapy is to help each person maximize their physical function,
while minimizing pain, to allow for a fuller and more active lifestyle. Services
are tailored to pain-related issues and are generally provided to persons who have
not responded completely or who have not responded at all to traditional medical
and physical therapy interventions.
You will receive therapy from physical therapists and assistants whom are part of
The Nebraska Medical Center's Pain Management Program team and work exclusively
with individuals suffering pain-related difficulties. However, you are not required
to be enrolled in the comprehensive four-week Pain Management Program to receive
physical therapy services.
The physical therapists at the Pain Management Program have devoted study, education
and clinical practice to provide therapies that are not provided by the typical
acute care physical therapist or require the expertise of someone who works exclusively
with individuals with pain problems. As such, our physical therapists provide a
specialist’s view in the treatment of pain as well as unique therapies and
exercise approaches that you would not receive from a traditional physical therapist.
