Types of Stroke

The Stroke Center provides structured and comprehensive care for simple and complex vascular disorders by incorporating the most recent developments in emergency medicine, stroke neurology, vascular surgery and cardiology. The center also provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with disorders of blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord, including:

  • Transient ischemic attack
  • Ischemic stroke
  • Carotid or vertebral artery stenosis
  • Cerebral hemorrhage
  • Aneurysms/subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Vascular malformations of the brain
  • Spinal vascular malformations
  • Primary prevention of stroke in high risk patients (asymptomatic carotid stenosis and sickle cell disease)
