Neurological rehabilitation therapy focuses on the physical and cognitive recovery
of your body after a neurological event. Optimal functional recovery is the aim
of physical and occupational therapy. Areas of focus include: activites of daily
living, ambulation, and balance.
The Neurological Rehabilitation Department at The Nebraska Medical Center offers
physical and occupational therapy services geared toward neurological recovery.
We offer computerized balance assessment, partial body weight supported gait training,
wheelchair assessment, functional training in an adapted kitchen and bathroom, customized
splinting, one-on-one treatment sessions, home safety assessment (as indicated),
and functional tone management. Working with a physical and occupational therapist
can be the first step in reclaiming your independence after a neurological injury.
