Lodging

The Nebraska Medical Center offers lodging at the Nebraska House for families staying in Omaha. Both Nebraska House locations are on campus. In the event the Nebraska House is sold out on any particular night, we have developed relationships with several hotels in Omaha to provide quality lodging for our guests. Some of these hotels provide scheduled shuttle service that transports patients and families to and from the hospital.

Nebraska House

For your convenience, the Nebraska House offers two types of guest residence options on campus so that you may be close to the hospital and clinics. Nebraska House features rooms with affordable daily rates.

Nebraska House in The Lied Transplant Center

• 66 suites designed for comfort and privacy
• Cost of $65 per night
• Suites feature comfortable furnishings, abundant storage space, adjustable lighting, separate sleeping and living areas and private bathroom in a home-like environment
• Rooms equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and two televisions
• Laundry facilities available

Nebraska House in the Special Services Pavilion

• Adjacent to The Lied Transplant Center
• Cost is $43 per night for the first 30 nights
• Extended stay pricing available at $38 per night on the 31st night of stay
• Features 17 economy rooms
• Rooms include two twin beds or one double bed, refrigerator and television
• Laundry facilities available

Ronald McDonald House

Transportation

Air transport by private plane or LifeNet helicopter as well as ground ambulance transportation can be arranged for transplant patients coming to The Nebraska Medical Center. Generally a patient's case manager or social worker will assist in planning appropriate transportation for patients and their families.

While staying in Omaha, Transportation Volunteers are available to assist with transportation needs.

• Arrangements are made through Guest and Volunteer Services, Monday through Friday during regular business hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please give a minimum of 24 hours notice to finalize arrangements.
• Guest and Volunteer Services can provide volunteer transportation to and from Eppley Airport, the Amtrack Train Station and the bus terminal between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week.
• Guest and Volunteer Services also plan a weekly shopping trip to local grocery and department stores on Mondays. Guests may sign up at the Nebraska House front desk.
