Does your center only see transplant
patients?
No, our center sees all patients with liver and/or intestinal diseases.
This may include patients with tumors, organ failure or who have experienced
organ rejection. We also provide diagnosis, medical or surgical treatments
and second opinions.
How do patients get referred to
your center?
A nurse coordinator or a physician will be happy to speak with you, your
family, your doctor or insurance carrier regarding individual health
care needs and referral process.
How long will I need to remain in
the Omaha area before or after my transplant?
The length of stay during the evaluation process and the subsequent treatment
will depend upon your medical condition. The nurse coordinator will be
happy to address any questions that you may have based upon your medical
condition and your individual needs.
Where would my family and I stay
while in the Omaha area?
There are a number of housing options that are located on or near the
hospital campus. Options may include Nebraska House, Potter’s House
and the Ronald McDonald house for children receiving treatment and their
families.
If I have questions regarding organ
transplant evaluation and treatment, who should I contact?
A nurse coordinator will be happy to answer any questions that you or
your family may have regarding the transplant process.
